Have I lost my virginity? To answer it in simplest way; - if you had penis inside vagina then yes.
It is qualified as sex. If you have an oral sex or masturbate (or dry hump) that does not count as well.
The most terrible question can be if a doctor or a parent (or; should I say anybody?) can find out upon an examination if I am still a virgin.
And the answer is, to your great relief - no. There is no way to know…
Why? Because hymen (a symbol of virginity) does even not exist with each person (some girls are born without it). In addition it can brake while doing strenuous sports or exercises, such as riding on a horse. Does not have to bleed or feel tight and endless bizarre, unbelievable combinations.
So the doctor (or any person in fact) has no way of telling if you had sex or not. There is no need to panic or worry about this subject anymore.
When should I lose my virginity? That is very individual. And it is very different for men and women. It may serve as a great excuse to stay a virgin especially for those having some problems. Let's say a male has a small penis (e.g. 3 inches). The best way for him (without any risk) is to declare he wants to stay a virgin till he gets married (for some 'noble' reasons, of course).
Once married, to divorce him is not easy. In an addition kids may be born and it becomes almost impossible.
Same may happen from girls' point of view. Perhaps she hates having sex (or have some other issues). To find out about any problem after marriage is often too late. So it has both advantages and disadvantages with it.
There are very few genuine people who do it for a particular reason (be it religious, etc.)
However, it is too risky to find out the true outcome once is late.
And practice makes perfect. So in case you want to know what you are getting it is better to be ready. To get married without sex may be prove too late just to find out two of you are completely sexually incompatible. What if one of the partners wants sex five times a day and the other five times a year?
Then you have two options left. To divorce or to live with the problem till rest of your lives.
None of that is simple. So much for nice words, romance, name it. Though the word sounds almost perfect it may bring a complete disaster upon anyone.
Age-wise it is completely individual. Sometimes a thirteen years old girl may prove more mature than an adult.
The main idea is - protection (pregnancy and/or STD's). And in case you become pregnant - a plan.
